What’s in your suitcase, Renu Modi?

(As professional migrants, we pack a lot of suitcases. But what’s the one item that you always take with you, wherever you go? That’s the question we ask our lecturers in this series.)

Pt.1 Renu Modi.

A small pressure cooker. As a vegetarian, Renu sometimes has a hard time finding places to eat. But cooking vegetables can take quite a bit of time. Not with this handheld pressure cooker. We think it would also make an excellent weapon, it’s pretty heavy.
Dr. Renu Modi is a Senior Lecturer and former Director (2008-2010) of the Centre for African Studies, University of Mumbai.
She was at the University of Oldenburg from 31 October to 16 November 2011.
